After 10 years of founding a building a business, we decided to take some time off and travel with our children so that they could experience other cultures, other languages and learn about the European history that has shaped the Western world.
My wife, Gabby, and our two children, Meghan (who turned 12 on the trip) and Kyle-Matthew (who turned 9 in the trip) and I also had the benefit of spending 24 hours a day together for over 9 weeks. We are living through the trials , tribulations and excitement of travelling.
I hope this will be something they remember for the rest of their lives and I hope we have in some way shaped their attitude to people and problems that make them more complete people.
This will also serve as a diary of our trip that we can reflect on in the years to come and also for Kyle and Meghan to share with their children as they grow up…
Enjoy the journey with us.
Karl.

Lyrics for the road……
Oh, come on, come on, come on, come on!
Didn’t I make you feel like you were the only man —yeah!
Didn’t I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ?
Honey, you know I did!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I’ve had enough,
But I’m gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough.
I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it if it makes you feel good,
Oh, yes indeed.
You’re out on the streets looking good,
And baby deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain’t right,
Never, never, never, never, never, never hear me when I cry at night,
Babe, I cry all the time!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I can’t stand the pain,
But when you hold me in your arms, I’ll sing it once again.
I’ll say come on, come on, come on, come on and take it!
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby.
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a!
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.
I need you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby!
oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, c’mon now.
oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby.
You know you got it —whoahhhhh!!
Take it!
Take it! Take another little piece of my heart now, baby,
Oh, oh, break it!
Break another little bit of my heart, now darling, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Oh, oh, have a
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, hey,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good.

David Grey says it best:
his Years Love lyrics
This years love had better last
Heaven knows it’s high time
I’ve been waiting on my own, too long
When you hold me like you do
It feels so right, oh now
Start to forget how my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feelin’ like I can’t go on.
Turnin’ circles time again
Cut like a knife, oh now
If you love me got to know for sure
Cuz’ it takes something more this time
Then sweet, sweet lies, oh now
Before I open up my arms and fall losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
When you kiss me on that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singin’ ain’t this life so sweet?
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
Cuz’ whose to worry if our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don’t you notice life goes on
Won’t you kiss me on that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singin’ ain’t this life so sweet
This years love had better last,
This years love had better last,
This years love had better last,
This years love had better last,
This years love had better last, whoa
This years love had better last.
